Reddy criticises Rajnath for protecting Sadhvi Pragya
Ahmedabad, Nov 10 (UNI) AICC Secretary and Gujarat Affairs-In-Charge Sudhakar Reddy today criticised BJP President Rajnath Singh for describing Sadhvi Pragya Singh, key accused in the Malegaon blast case, as an ''innocent victim of a conspiracy.'' Mr Reddy told reporters here that giving political support to such criminal activities did not just strengthen anti-national elements but also spread communal hatred between two communities.
He said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, acting on the initiative taken by Congress President Sonia Gandhi in response to the larger demands and intersts, has declared the pious Ganga river as the National River.
''The Prime Minister has also declared to form a 'Ganga Cleansing Committee' to clean and purify the water of river Ganga.
This Committee would have Chief Ministers of states, through which Ganga flows, as its members,'' Mr Reddy added.
