Islamabad, Nov 10 : The PCB is likely to hold a Twenty20 tournament in the memory of the country's former premier Benazir Bhutto. The tournament will be named Benazir Bhutto Twenty20 event.
Expected to be held later this month, the event will feature all the leading teams in the country and it is likely to be played in the vacant period available between the Pentangular Cup cricket and the start of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy championships, reported The News.
"There is a proposal to hold the First Benazir Bhutto event starting from November 23 where all the leading teams of the country would be engaged. Besides the regional teams, departments will also be engaged in this twenty20 version of the game," the paper quotd one of the PCB Governing Board members as saying.
He said that a proposal in this regard would be put forward in the Governing Board meeting scheduled to be held in Lahore today. "It is expected that the tournament would get the go ahead in the Governing Board meeting to be held in Lahore on Monday," he said. nd, the prize distribution ceremony of the event is expected to be held at the Presidency.
