Lahore, Nov 10 (UNI) Former captain Aamer Sohail was appointed as the new Director of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) at a Governing Board meeting of the PCB here today.
The key post has been lying vacant since former Test opener Mudassar Nazar resigned last month after he accepted an assignment with the International Cricket Council (ICC) in Dubai.
The PCB also appointed former Test pacer Saleem Altaf as the chief operating officer who was initially named as the PCB Director General by the Board chairman Ijaz Butt last month.
Altaf replaced Shafqat Naghmi, who was asked to resign by Butt, soon after he took over as the PCB chairman last month.
Former Test wicket-keeper Wasim Bari was also appointed as the new Director, Human Resource of the PCB.
Ever since he took over as the PCB chairman, Butt has been recruiting former players for important posts in the Board.
