No terrorist activity tolerated in Kerala: Balakrishnan

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 10: Kerala Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Monday, Nov 10 warned that the government would not tolerate any type of terrorist activity in the state.

Talking to reporters on his return from a foreign trip, he said stern action would be taken against terrorism and the state police were capable of handling any extremist activity from any religion.

Mr Balakrishnan said it was the state police and their intelligence wing which brought out all details about the terrorists who were shot dead by security forces in Kashmir.

Mr Balakrishnan, who visited Singapore, Australia and the US, said the police department had not faced any problem in maintaining law and order during his absence.

On Opposition criticism that the Home Minister was visiting foreign countries when the state faced serious problems relating to terrotist activities, he said ''no obstacle or lack of vigil experienced during my absence in the Home Department.''
