Children's Creativity Festival from Nov 10

New Delhi, Nov 10: Ahead of Children's Day, the Nehru Bal Samiti (NBS) on Monday, Nov 10 organised its 46th Children's Creativity Festival Competitions here featuring the Bal Mela with various competitions like folk dance, spot-painting and cultural programmes by local children. The high point of the festival would be on Children's Day being celebrated on Nov 14 which also marks the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The six-day festival would run up till Nov 15.

Celebrating Children's Day is about giving children the right to enjoy and grow into healthy and educated citizens of the country. This day reminds people of the commitment to the welfare of the children and teach them to live by Chacha Nehru's standards and example.

The Samiti, a leading NGO in North India, is actively participating in causes ranging from child development activities to women empowerment.

According to NBS Director Mr S P Govil, ''Children being the real strength of a country and the very foundation of our society, the Samiti started its commitment with a vision to uplift the educational status of the weaker sections of the society.'' The festival would also witness children from different schools participating in various functions like folk dances, poem recitation, fancy dress, solo-instrumental music competition, spot-painting, group song, story writing in Hindi and English and other cultural programmes from the weaker sections to cheer them up on this special occasion.
