Kalam calls for using reasearch findings for society's uplift
Thrissur, Nov 10 (UNI) Former President A P J Abdual Kalam today called for making use of the good results of researches to unite science and spirituality for the uplift of society.
Inaugurating the birth centenary celebrations of Swamy Ranganathananda, former chairman of the Sree Ramakrishna Mission here, he asked the people to include the Swamy's message to deepen spirituality for solving unrest in society.
Mr Kalam said Swamy Ranganathananda was a great man who spent his entire life for the total development of the society.
The Swami preached ''Sathya Sanathana Dharma'' in the country and abroad and dedicated himself for the Sree Ramakrishana Mission.
Selfishness and narrow-minded thoughts were the problems facing the country and the world, he said and called upon the youngsters to come forward to solve these problems by gaining knowledge.
Mr Kalam also interacted with school children and visited the house of Ranganathananda swamy and paid tributes.
