Mumbai, Nov 10 (UNI) Maharashtra deputy chief minister R R Patil today charged the Hindu brigade with ''giving communal colour'' to the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) investigations in the September 29 Malegaon blast case.
Speaking to mediapersons at Mantralaya, Mr Patil said the claims that Hindu activists are being targeted were false.
Reiterating his claims that ATS had ample evidences against the accused in the case, he said people, who are raising doubts against ATS for political purpose, would lose their face once the evidence are submitted.
About involvement of armymen in the case, he said no action is directed against army as such. However, those who are guilty would face action. ''We respect army as the prime institution and would not even think of tainting it,'' Mr Patil said.
''Considering the sensitive nature of the case ATS is justified in keeping everything under tight wrap,'' he added.
