Raipur, Nov 10 (UNI) Former Chhattisgarh Finance Commission Chairman Virendra Pandey, who is contesting as an independent from Raipur West assembly seat after resigning from the BJP, has alleged that the BJP has fielded people who were involved in corruption.

Talking to mediapersons here, Mr Pandey said the BJP has fielded Mr Labhchand Bafna, former state Warehousing Corporation Chairman, who was removed due to his alleged complicity in Rs two crore rice scam in Kunkuri, from Saja seat.

Cooperative Department Joint Registrar P R Naik, who had been charged with lending fake loans to the tune of Rs 14 crore, was fielded from Daudilohra seat but later removed following protest, he said.

Mr Deepak Patel, who is son of government official Chandrakumar Patel, has been fielded from Manendragadh. His father was facing corruption charges, he added.

Mr Pandey, who had launched an attack against former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi and is known for his honest image, said the BJP had set choice as parameter for ticket distribution instead of dedication for the party.

He said rebel tendencies were being seen within the BJP like never before.

Replying to a question, he said the BJP should worry about itself instead of ticket distribution of the Congress.
