Aulakh lays stone for cyber crime ps cum forensic lab
SAS Nagar, Oct 10 (UNI) Punjab Police chief N.P.S. Aulakh today laid the foundation stone of State of Art Cyber Crime Police Station-cum-Forensic Science Laboratory building here.
The building would house a Cyber Crime Police Station, FSL including Physics Lab, Texilogy Lab, Lie Detection Lab, Biology Lab, Chemistry Lab and Ballistic Lab and it would play a significant role in effective investigation of crimes.
Speaking on the occasion, DGP Aulakh informed that the four- storey building with basement would cost Rs 8 crore and it would be completed in 2 years.
Mr Aulakh also said that the Punjab Police Housing Corporation (PPHC) would soon sign an MoU with Karnatka State Police Housing Corporation for web-based project management system which would help in close monitoring of the progress including quality control besides introducing the e-tendering system within a period of six months.
Besides, another MoU would be signed with BSF to under take the construction of their future projects in the State.
Mr Aulakh disclosed that the construction work of Rs. 10 crore Punjab Police Training Institute for Private Security Guards at Jahan Khelan was going on full swing and expressed confidence that it would be completed up to June-2009.
The institute would provide training to 4000 security guards in a year thereby creating employment opportunities for a number of unemployed but physically fit youth of the State.
Speaking on the occasion, PPHC M.D. M.K. Tiwari, informed that the corporation had exceeded the monthly target of more than Rs.
4.5 crore in the month of October, 2008, besides the plan to achieve the annual target of Rs. 56.00 crores as compared to the works done of Rs. 24 crore last year.
He said that the PPHC has embarked upon a path of modernisation in a big way with introduction of 50 computers connected with WAN&LAN.
On the occasion, the DGP gave away certificates to 18 officers/officials of the PPHC for their excellent performance during the year 2008.
