Mumbai, Nov 9 (UNI) Security was tightened at the suburban Chembur residence of Congress MP Gurudas Kamath here today, after his statement that Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray's rightful place was in jail because of the latter's support for Malegaon blast accused Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur.

According to police, Mr Kamath's residence has been cordoned off and any activity by either the Congress or the Sena activists, have been disallowed outside his bungalow.

''We are taking preventive measures, as the Shiv Sena activists had burnt the effigy of Mr Kamath at Nashik yesterday,'' an officer from Chembur police station said.

It may be recalled that a few days back, Mr Kamath, who is also former president of Mumbai Congress, while addressing a public meeting at Bandra here on the completion of four years of the state government, said the real face of the saffron forces has come into limelight after the arrest of Sadhvi and others in the Malegaon blast case.

He said since Bal Thackeray had publicly announced his support for the Sadhvi, his place should be in jail for extending support to a terrorist.
