Pakistan observes 132nd birth anniversary of Allama Iqbal

Lahore, Nov.9 : Pakistan today paid homage to Shair-e-Mashriq (The Poet of the East) Allama Iqbal on his 132nd birth anniversary.

A Pakistan Navy contingent led by Captain Mobin Ashraf assumed charge of guarding the Mazar-e-Iqbal in a befitting ceremony held here.

According to The News, Naval Commodore Syed Hassan Mustafa also paid tribute at the Mazar-e-Iqbal by laying a wreath and offering Fateha. He also penned down his emotions on the book kept over there.

Punjab University Vice Chancellor, Dr. Kamran Mujahid and university teachers also paid their respects to pakistan's national poet.

Several seminars, symposiums and functions have been organised to celebrate Iqbal's birth anniversary.
