Jammu, Nov 9 (UNI) Criticising the Election Commission(EC) of being the ''tool in the hands of Congress'', J K National Panthers Party (JKNPP) Chairman Bhim Singh said the ensuing Assembly polls in the state would neither be free and nor fair.
Addressing a press conference here, Prof Singh said people in the state want change and are willing to vote, but in the present scenario, the elections in the state would not be fair.
''The Congress and National Conference (NC) won't let these elections go fair,'' he said, alleging that both Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad and NC patron Farooq Abdullah were expert in rigging the elections.
Prof Singh demanded removal of the District Commissioners of Reasi, Poonch and Kishtwar in Jammu region, blaming the Congress for influencing the office of the EC, to put stay on their transfers.
''For ensuring free and fair elections, these three District Commissioners should have been removed,'' he said.
Citing an example of Poonch district, which goes for election phase I on November 17, the JKNPP patron said, the administration had put restrictions on the election campaigns and candidates were not allowed to hold rallies in the municipal limits of towns in the bordering district.
