AP: Govt orders probe into TDP legislator muder case

Hyderabad Nov 9: Andhra Pradesh Home Minister K Jana Reddy on Sunday, Nov 9 said the state government would inquire into the killing of main accused in TDP legislator muder case Moddu Sreenu in Ananthapur jail by an undertrial prisoner Om Prakash early on Sunday, Nov 9. Addressing a press coference here he said the govenrment has asked Director General (Prison) to investigate into the circumastances leading to the ghastly act in the jail.

He said the DG had already left for Ananthapur and would submit a detialed report to the state government. The District Superintendent of Police, Anathapur would also inquire into the incident based on a complaint lodged by jail authorities.

He refuted the allegations of the some opposition parties that the state government and the Chief Minister were involved in the murder.

He alleged that the opposition parties were trying to malign the image of the government and the Chief Minsiter.

''The allegation is politically motivated to mislead the people'', he charged.
