EC asks to beef up security at Rajasthan-MP border
Bhopal, Nov 9 (UNI) Election Commission has issued orders to launch an intensive search operation at the border of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan in view of assembly polls.
Official sources said today asked to take stern action on vehicles crossing the borders, anti-social elements and illegal carrying of liquor, arms and unaccounted cash.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Secretary was asked to beef up the security in the state's districts bordering Rajasthan immediately besides adopting precautionary measures. A round the clock search drive would also be launched against the vehicles crossing the borders.
Besides the routine check posts mobile search would also be carried out and the surprise actions would also be taken.
Both the states would undertake the task by mutual discussions and suggestions.
In order to stop the movement of anti-social elements from both the states the border would be sealed 48 hours before the close of polls.
The Election Commission has issued similar advice after reviewing the poll arrangements in Rajasthan also.
