Dhoni confident to make it 2-0 tomorrow

By Staff

Nagpur, Nov 9 (UNI) Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni today said he was happy with the target that India has set up for Australia and added that chasing 360 on the last day wicket here would be a tough ask for any team.

Speaking to the mediapersons after the fourth's day play, the Indian captain said, ''there is a lot of wear and tear and rough on the wicket besides the ball will also become soft after sometime and start reversing.

''We are not worried what the opponents will do, we will be contentrating on what we are supposed to do,'' he added.

He said the strategy of the Indian bowlers tomorrow will be only to take 10 Australian wickets and secure a 2-0 victory in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Dhoni, who has been the lucky mascot having won all the three Test matches he has captained the team so far, praised his bowlers for their effort in the series so far and said the onus would be on them from here on.

''The spotlight is once again going to be on them, we can also include Sehwag as the fifth bowler in that list. We are looking at picking up a few early wickets tomorrow,'' he conceded.

Praising the pace bowlers, he said it has been amazing the way Indian pacers have bowled.

''Zaheer and Ishant's natural tendency is to pick up wickets and yesterday they wanted to go on and on,'' he stated.

Dhoni further clarified on the tactics that he used on the third day of the match here which drew a lot of criticism from various players and said his approach was never negative.

''It's about winning the game, go out there and win games, Aussies could have done something different against the tactics, they could have shuffled towards off-stump and tried to hit on the leg side, we were happy with what was happening, they were getting most of their runs through edges behind the wicket, so we knew we had a chance at picking up wickets,'' he clarified.

''The important thing tomorrow is not to worry about the result and just execute our plans on the field,'' he added.

Speaking about the use of part timers by Australia after tea, the Indian skipper said, ''It is great when you get to face them and especially, you are not in a good position. The Aussies don't have a second specialist spinner and when that happens there is always a threat about the over-rate early in the day, which forced them to use parttimers which was good for us.'' Dhoni also said India was not worried about the form of Dravid. ''We had got off to a good start and decided to send Rahul in, all players go through a phase, he is a great player and has proved himself time and again for us, we are not worried about his form.''
