Centre did adequate justice in Lankan Tamils issue: Minister
Ariyalur, Nov 9 (UNI) Senior Congress Leader and Union Minister of State for statistics and programme implementation G K Vasan took exception to the reported accusation against the Union Government made by several political parties on the Sri Lankan Tamils issue.
Speaking after laying the foundation stone for the late Congress leader and his father G K Moopanar's statue at Elakurichi near here last night he said Centre was totally against the ongoing attack on innocent Tamils in Sri Lanka and it believed that the detailed negotiations could alone solve the problem.
He said the Union Government was taking several measures on the issue and efforts were on to disburse the relief materials to the needy and affected Tamils through International Red Cross society and Unite Nations Organsation (UNO).
Criticising some political party laders of Tamil Nadu he said they were talking the Sri Lankan Tamils issue only on their lips but not whole-heartedly.
He urged the political leaders not to spoil the conducive atmosphere by speaking differently.
