Assamese labourer grilled in connection with Guwahati blasts
Kochi, Nov 9 (UNI) An Assamese migrant labourer, working in a brick kiln at Perumbavoor, near here, was being grilled by intelligence agencies and Kerala police in connection with the serial blasts in Guwahati on October 30 in which over 60 people were killed.
Police said Muhammad Saibul Ishra, 25, had been picked up by intelligence agencies and the Perumbavoor police today after the anti-terrorist squad traced his phone calls.
In some phone calls made to Assam just before the blasts, Ishra had allegedly threatened that blasts would take place in Guwahati.
On being questioned about these calls, Ishra had allegedly given contradictory statements.
Twelve other migrant labourers working in the Perumbavoor area were being kept under surveillance, police added.
