AP CM denies oppositon allegation, ready for any inquiry
Hyderabad, Nov 9 (UNI) Denying allegations of the opposition Telugu Desam Party President N Chandrababu Naidu that his government was involved in the killing of the main accused in TDP legislator murder case Moddu Sreenu in Ananthapur jail today, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy said he was ready for any type of inquiry.
Talking to newspersons, the Chief Minister, who was in Mahaboobnagar, alleged that it was Mr Naidu's practice to make allegations against his government for any incident in the State.
There was no need for the government to be involved in the incident, he added.
Dr Reddy said the incident happened in the jail and it was not good on the part of the opposition to blame the government for it.
Andhra Pradesh Home Minister K Jana Reddy said the state government would inquire into the incident.
Talking to newspersons here, he said the govenrment has asked Director General (Prisons) to investigate into the circumstances leading to the act.
Mr Jana said the DG, who had already left for Ananthapur would submit a detailed report to the government. The District Superintendent of Police, Ananthapur, would also inquire into the incident, based on a complaint lodged by jail authorities.
