8 devotees killed in truck-tractor collision
Sirsa, Nov 9 (UNI) Eight people, including 6 women, were today killed and two injured in a tractor-truck collision near Moriwala village in this district.
The victims, residents of Sangarsadha village of this district, were returning from a religious gathering at Radha Swami Satsang Beas in nearby Sikanderpur village, when a speeding truck hit their tractor-trolley.
The trollley overturned with the impact of the collision and six women, Soma, Rampiari, Rita, Paramjit Kaur, Amandip Kaur, Sunita, a child Kaka died on the spot while an old man Khajan Singh who was seriously injured in the accident succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital.
The other two injured, identified as Lada Ram and Soma Rani, have been admitted in a hosptial at Sirsa.
SDM Harish Bhatia reached the spot. The police had registerd a case and efforts were on to nab the truck driver who managed to flee.
