Moscow, Nov 9 (UNI) At least 20 people were killed in an accident on board a Russian nuclear submarine, Russian media has reported.
The accident took place during routine tests of the submarine of the Russian Pacific Fleet, Russia Today TV channel reported quoting Igor Dygalo, the spokesman for the Russian Pacific Fleet.
He said more than 20 people have died after the fire extinguishing system had unexpectedly gone off during sea trials.
Dygalo said the submarine itself had not been damaged and there had been no radiation leaks, adding further tests to be conducted on the submarine have since been cancelled.
Military prosecutors are investigating the accident, he said.
