Speaking after the launch, Mr Vineet Agarwal, President Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting Group, said that the newly launched product was unique in styling and the use of aluminum legs and beam give it a very distinct look from the conventional modular furniture systems. He said that "I'M" is India's first 'Leg and Beam based system' was specially designed in the Wipro's innovative design house and has filed 3 product patent applications for the new product.
He said that so far the Company has invested ofver Rs 100 Crore at its existing manufacturing facility at Waluj in Aurangabad, Maharashtra especially for "I'M" and other premium range products.
He said that the present market potential for the modular range of furniture products accounts for about Rs 1000 crore while to that of conventional Chairs Rs 600 crores.
Describing "I'M" ranges are innovative and exciting products, it was designed to suit for contemporary new age offices. "Its launch positions us as a design company and we will be soon introducing new premium designs in furniture and seating, designed by leading international Designers exclusively for Wipro" he said.
Replying to questions Mr Agarwal said that Company's Chennai Manufacturing facility of Chairs ranges was cent per cent manned by Women. "All the jobs including design, manufacturing, assembly handled solely by women work force" he said.
