Chandigarh, Nov 8 (UNI) Quarter-finalists were today spotted in the 7th Girls Junior National Football Championship 2008-09 which is being conducted by the Haryana State Football Association in Faridabad and Gurgaon.
Powerful Manipur recorded their third successive victory by routing Maharashtra by 11-0 to top cluster V. Manipur along with hosts Haryana (cluster III), Tripura (cluster VII) and Goa (cluster II) qualified for the group B quarter-final league. Orissa (cluster I), Assam (clustrer IV), Tamil Nadu (clustrer VI) and Jharkhand (cluster V) qualified for group A quarter-final league phase.
Winners of Cluster I, II, III, IV, VI, VII and winners and runners-up from Cluster V qualified for the quarter- final round.
Manipur emerged Cluster V winners while Jharkhand finished runners-up in this group Tomorrow is a rest day and the quarter-final league matches will be played at the Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex in Gurgaon.
On Monay, Orissa will meet Jharkhand and Assam will face Tamil Nadu in group A. Jharkhand handed out a 21-0 drubbing to Himachal Pradesh in cluster V and finished runners-up behind Manipur.
In cluster VII, Bihar and Delhi played a one-all draw and split points in an inconsequential match.
Kuhelta Guha put Delhi ahead in the second minute while Lovely Kumari reduced the margin in the fourth minute.
