Rajkot, Nov 8 (UNI) In view of terror threats, police have suggested the BCCI officials to install X-Ray machines at entry points to scan the spectators before their entries in the stadium for the first ODI between India and England to be played here on November 14.
Speaking to UNI, the police commissioner has said at least five such machines to be installed at every entry points and each machine would cost Rupees one crore.
He said the expense of the equipments would bear by the BCCI and added that these equipments will be used also other venues too where other ODIs' to play.
The EntryScan, which is popularly known as the ''puffer,'' has already been deployed to dozens of high-risk facilities worldwide to help detect explosives and is a key component of the total check-point security solution, he said and added that '' we do not want to take any chances when the terrorist threats still persists''.
He also suggested the Saurashtra Cricket Association officials that the tickets which will be sold, will have to pass through these machines before entering the ground, Mr Sinha said.
In view of the forthcoming ODI here, City police have decided to set up a quick response cell which would conduct regular and thorough check-up of all hotels and guest houses in the city prior to the match and notification in this regard has already been issued.
Making it mandatory for the owners of all the hotels and guest houses to submit the names and addresses of customers to Crime Branch Office of the city.
Additional police force will also be called in from the outside to maintain law and order situation, he added.
