PCB serves show cause notice on "rebel" Yousuf, wants its Rs 1 crore back

By Staff

Lahore, Nov 8 : The PCB is learnt to have served a show cause notice on its star batsman Mohammad Yousuf who recently joined the "rebel" Indian Cricket League (ICL).

The Board also asked him to return Rs one crore which it had spent on Yousuf in fighting a legal case on his behalf in India after he rescinded his ICL contract last year to join the Indian Premier League (IPL) promoted by the BCCI. The ICL had then blocked his move (to join (IPL) by filing a beach of contract case in an Indian court.

The PCB fought the case on Yousuf's behalf spending Rs one crore in the legal battle.

"We spent around Rs 10 million and since he has re-joined the ICL, we want him to return us all the expenses incurred on the case," the Daily Times quoted Salim PCB director general Salim Altaf as saying.

He added: "Today, we have served him a show cause notice and if he doesn't return the money, we will file a lawsuit in a civil court to recover money."

Yousuf had re-joined the 'rebel' ICL on Wednesday, forcing the PCB to suspend him from playing in or for Pakistan.
