Neighbour shoots dead man, injures son

Karnal, Nov 8 (UNI) A man was killed while his son sustained serious injuries when a group of six people led by his neighbour allegedly opened fire on them near Kalasi village today.

Arjun Singh, 55, and his son Naresh, 23, were returning to their village Barsalu from Nilokheri when a group of six people led by their neighbour Ram Saran allegedly ambushed them near the government school of village Kalasi. Arjun died on the spot while his son sustained serious injuries. The passers-by informed the police and rushed the boy to a private hospital in Karnal.

On the statement of the deceased's son, who is undergoing treatment in the hospital, the police have arrested the neighbour and his two sons.

A case under section 302, 148, 149 of the IPC and 25, 54 and 59 of Arms Act has been registered.
