Srinagar, Nov 8 (UNI) Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today alleged that National Conference (NC) has imposed assembly elections on people in Jammu and Kashmir without addressing their genuine concerns.
Former minister and senior PDP leader Tariq Hameed Karra said that NC thrusted polls on people in their lust for power.
''Instead of respecting the public sentiment and press on addressing the genuine and justified concerns of the people, the NC leaders, hastily pushed for elections in the state, Mr Karra said while addressing a day-long convention of the PDP workers from Amira Kadal Zone here.
Mr Karra said the NC's game-plan of grabbing power amid the uncertain situation stands fully exposed and the people would now never allow the party's dubious designs to take shape.
''NC has to pay a price for its follies,'' he said and added that it would not like peace and stability return to the state as the party has always banked on political brinkmanship to stay in power.
Mr Karra said while the NC leaders have been shedding crocodile tears over the plight of the Srinagar city, let them explain to people what they have done during their 30-year rule in the state.
Mr Karra claimed that despite the coalition constraints and the limited time of delivery available with it, the PDP-led coalition government made a perceptible change on the developmental front in the Srinagar city.
