MoU signed between India and Oman on employment generation
Muscat Nov 8 : A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Indian Overseas Affairs Ministry and the Ministry of Manpower in the field of manpower and employment generation here today.
According to the agreement, both the Ministries would take measure to ensure fair recruitment of Indian manpower in the Sultanate of Oman.
And for this the two sides will continue visiting each other for consultation in the field of manpower and generation of employment opportunities.
Besides this, there will be a tribunal, which will keep an eye on any dispute arising between the employee and the employer.
As far as India-Oman Joint Investment Fund is concerned, the State Bank of India and the State General Reserve Fund of Sultanate of Oman have decided to set up a joint fund for two years for various projects of bi-lateral interests.
This can be extended further after the review of the progress. The Joint Investment Fund can be utilised in the field of tourism, infrastructure, health, telecom and urban infrastructure. By Pankaj Chaudhary
