Mumbai, Nov 8 (UNI) A delegation of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) party workers today met Manoj Bhagat (30), who was shot in the thigh by Patna-based youth Rahul Raj during a Brihamumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) bus hijack drama in the eastern suburb of Kurla recently, and assured him to provide all medical and financial assistance.

Mr Bhagat, a resident of Saki Naka, who was on the bus No 332 when Raj shot him in the left thigh as he tried to move, is currently undergoing medical treatment in the civic run Rajawadi Hospital at Ghatkopar, an eastern suburb.

Talking to UNI here, MNS office-bearer Sadeep Deshpande said a delegation of party workers, headed by Shirish Parkar, met Mr Bhagat in the Rajawadi Hospital and assured him to bear all medical expenses as well as provide financial assistance to him.

Mr Bhagat today underwent an operation in the hospital for bullet injury, he added.

Dr Prasanna Biswas, who is treating Mr Bhagat, said he has a bone fracture.

''We will have to place a rod in his thigh. It will take him at least three months to get back to normal life,'' he added.
