Mixed trend continues in precious metals
Mumbai, Nov 8 (UNI) The mixed trend in precious metals continued for the third straight day today with silver easing by Rs 35 per kg to close at Rs 17,460 and gold surging by Rs 45 per ten gm to end at Rs 11,715, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association said.
The white metal opened low at Rs 17,470 per kg on lack of buying enquiries from jewellery makers. Finally, it fell by Rs 35 per kg to end at Rs 17,460 from its previous close, amid persistent offloading by stock holders.
Standard and pure gold opened high at Rs 11,675 and Rs 11,735 per ten gm respectively, on good demand from local dealers. Standard and pure gold moved up by Rs 45 and Rs 40 to close at Rs 11,715 and Rs 11,770 per ten gm respectively, amid better buying support from jewellery makers.
