Hawara's close aide acquitted in sedition case
Fatehgarh Sahib, Nov 8 (UNI) A local court has acquitted Gurdeep Singh Alampur, a close aide of former terrorist and Babbar Khalsa International (India) Chief Jagtar Singh Hawara, in a sedition case.
The court of Additional District and Session Judge, Fatehgarh Sahib acquitted Gurdeep Singh as the prosecution failed to prove charges against him.
Gurdeep Singh Alampur is also accused in the Burail Jail break on January 21, 2004 as he was charged with helping Hawara, Jagtar Singh Tara, Paramjit Singh Bheora and Devi Singh to escape on January 21, 2004.
The Bassi Pathana police had registered a case against Gurdeep Singh and others under section 124-A, 153-A, 25,54,59 of Arms Act, 3/4 of Explosives Act on February 12, 2004.
A number of cases were registered in this district against Gurdeep Singh related with NDPS Act, Arms Act, Explosive Act, theft, dacoity, habouring Hawara and other terrorists and he was declared Proclaimed Offender (PO) in many cases.
