MP: EC warns on defacing property during polls
Bhopal, Nov 8: The Election Commission said defacement of property without prior permission of its owner was banned under the Madhya Pradesh Prevention of Defacement of Property Act, 1994.
Official sources said any building, shanty, wall, tree, fence, pole, under-construction building, road and government land come under the purview of this Act.
A fine of Rs 1,000 would be imposed for causing defacement, damage or affecting beauty was banned. Besides, the crime would come under investigation.
