BangaloreIT.biz concludes on high note
Bangalore, Nov 8 (UNI) Country's premier ICT event, 'BangaloreIT.Biz-2008,' today concluded after bringing together hardware and software firms in a business focused event.
The event was organised by the Karnataka Government in partnership with the STPI.
The three-day deliberations saw 106 international and national speakers, 5,100 business delegates, 100 leading global and Indian exhibitors participate in the event. This included 22 STPI members and 17 units from state-run KEONICS SEZ.
Secretary of IT, BT Science and Technology Ashok Kumar Manoli told reporters the event, now in its eleventh year, was sponsored by 27 leading IT companies and attracted big gathering.
For the first time the event also had YESSS, a unique initiative, where 11 start-up companies presented their ideas, research and technologies to industry and investors, venture capitalists, angel investors and conducted business meetings, he said.
There were over 90 delegates who held business meetings with these start-ups subsequently.
Also for the first time STPI IT export awards were integrated with Bangaloreit.Biz.
Infosys technologies and WIPRO bagged the top honours for being the top two major Indian IT companies.
The event also had a CEO conclave, panel discussions and Rural IT Quiz. The conclave was attended by over 300 CEOs.
With the focus on emerging markets, the event attracted Mexico as the country partner. A 14-member delegation from Mexico government, including officials and industry representatives participated.
The team conducted over 100 b2b meetings with Indian companies.
The Mexican delegations were aiming at two-fold objective of sourcing ICT products and services and collaboration with Indian IT companies.
A nine-member delegation from Denmark as well as delegations from Japan and Germany also took part in the event.
