AP to host Asian Seed Cong from Nov 9
Hyderabad, Nov 8 (UNI) The Asian Seeds Congress, one of the biggest international seed industry events in Asia-Pacific Region, will be held here from November 9 to 13 at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) to discuss among other things, Intellectual Patent Regime(IPR) and emerging and re-emerging seed pests in the region.
Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy would address over 700 national and international delegates on November 11, informed Asia Pacific Seed Association (APSA) President Madoka Koshibe while addressing a press conference here today.
The annual event of the APSA, which had links with Food and Agriculture Organisation and World Trade Organisation, would bring together business executives, academicians, scientists and government officials from different parts of the world, National Organising Committee Chairman Buta Singh said.
The impact of climate change on the seed industry and growing role of government sector in international seed trade would be discussed during the technical sessions, he added.
