JK Police foil terror attack, 98 grenades found
Jammu, Nov 8: Alert locals helped police foil a possible terror attack by recovering 98 live grenades concealed in a bag at Supwal in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources today said.
''At least 98 live grenades that can be lobbed with AK Launcher were found beside an under-construction bridge last evening,'' an official source told sources. Police, along with a bomb disposal squad, rushed to the spot and took charge of the explosives. It is said to be a major success, as the explosives seemed to be a part of hidden consignment of anti-national elements, which wanted to use at an opportune time, he added.
Lobbing of grenades at public places is a convenient as well as the most dangerous mode at the hands of militants to spread terror.
Police were, meanwhile, conducting searches in the area.
