Tata Motors says Passenger car plant in Pune working normally
Mumbai, Nov 7 (UNI) Maintaining that its passenger car plant in Pune was working in its ''normal manner'', Tata motors today said that it has to adopt appropriate action to match production with demand and avoid unncessary build up of inventory In a statement here, in reaction to reports of its Commercial vehicle production unit in Pune to be shut for a week from November 21, the Compay said non availability of finance coupled with high interest rates were forcing customers to postpone purchases and this had impacted different segments of the automobile industry at different levels.
The situation called for appropriate action from Tata Motors, from time to time, to match production with demand and avoid unnecessary build-up of inventory in the company or with the company's dealers the release said. The Pune Passenger Car plant is working in its normal manner, it added.
