Somdev, Mankad-Ashutosh storms into semis of US Challenger

Nashville, US, Nov 7 (UNI) India's Somdev Devvarman cruised into the semifinals of the 75,000 dollar ATP Challengers after beating World Number 94 Jesse Levine in straights sets here.

Somdev trounced the American 7-6(5), 6-2 in the quarters to enter the last four stage of the hard court event.

He would next face second seed Bobby Reynolds to earn a place in the final.

The unseeded Indian Davis Cupper had, earlier, beaten world number 86 Reynolds in the pre-quarterfinal round of Lexington Challenger.

However, the other Indian in the fray, Ashutosh Singh and Harsh Mankad, while stunning the second seeded pair of Australia- Ashley Fisher and Jim Thomas of the US 6-3, 6-4 to enter the semis of the doubles competition.

The Indian pair is now up against American wild card pair of Scott Oudsema and Tim Smyczek.
