Six candidates file nomination papers for Pale Assembly seat

Panaji, Nov 7 (UNI) Six candidates today filed their nomination papers to contest the by-election to Pale Assembly constituency in Goa, scheduled on November 26.

Among them, two belong to Congress, two Save Goa Front (SGF) and two independents.

The candidates -- Pratap Gauns and his wife Geeta (both Congress), former BJP health minister Dr Suresh Amonkar, Rajendra Narayanrao Rane (both independents) and Jose Lobo of SGF (two sets) -- have filed their nomination papers before Bicholim Deputy Collector Arvind Bugde.

Tomorrow is the last day for the filing of the nomination papers, sources said.
