Shiv Sena pleads for safe distribution of relief materials
Tiruchirapalli, Nov 7 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu State Unit of Shiv Sena today asked the DMK President and Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to clarify whether the collected relief materials meant for Sri Lankan Tamils, were really for the affected Tamils in the island nation or the banned Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).
Talking to newspersons here, Party State President Kumara Raja after attending the state office bearers' meeting, said a resolution was adopted at the meeting in this regard.
Demanding that Mr Karunanidhi should ensure that the collected relief materials from the people of the state reached the needy Tamils in Sri Lanka, he alleged the CM had taken up this issue to divert attention of the people, from his government's utter failure in many aspects, especially power supply and also with an eye on the coming Lok Sabha elections.
People would teach a suitable lesson to him and his partners in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections, he said, adding the meeting appealed to the Government to withdraw the provision of seven per cent exclusive reservation for Muslims and Chrisitian in the state.
