Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 7 (UNI) The Congress in Kerala has not yet discussed admitting Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) into the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF), Pradesh Congress Committee President Ramesh Chennithala said today.
''The UDF is strong and has not decided to take any other political party in its fold,'' he told UNI.
On the statement by NCP State President K Muraleedharan that his party would work with the parties sharing power with the UPA government in the next elections, he said ''there is no reality in it.'' Mr Ramesh said neither the central leadership nor the state unit ever discussed the issue so far and added that the central leadership would not take any decision without consulting the state unit.
Nobody had approached the state unit on this issue, he said and added that the UDF could work only with those who follow the its policies.
Earlier, Mr Muraleedharn had said his party would work with the UPA partners in the coming elections and a final decision in this regard would be taken by the central leadership.
