Raipur, Nov 7 (UNI) A case has been registered against Chhattisgarh Minister of State for Public Works Department Rajesh Munat, who has been fielded by the BJP to contest from Raipur West, for threatening to kill an independent candidate.
City Superintendent of Police Lal Ummed Singh told UNI here that Mr Baliram Sharma, independent candidate from Raipur West, has submitted a written complaint alleging that the minister reached his house on Wednesday night and pressurised him to withdraw his nomination.
He said the minister lost control and threatened to kill him when he refused to do so.
Senior BJP leader Virendra Pandey has filed his nomination as rebel candidate against Mr Munat from Raipur West. He has refused to withdraw his nomination.
