Guwahati, Nov 07 (UNI) The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) today convened a review meeting to discuss preparations for the November 29 India-England ODI here, with the October 30 blasts causing apprehension, though the BCCI has thrown its weight behind the state organisers.
''The ODI is as per schedule and all necessary security arrangements will be made,'' ACA office-bearer D Nunisa said.
He informed that a meeting had been convened later today by the ACA to review the preparations, including ground preparations as well as security arrangements.
Besides the ACA officials, government authorities, including the Chief Secretary, and security personnel are scheduled to attend it, he added.
Guwahati, the lone host of international cricket matches in North East, would be hosting the sixth tie in the seven-match ODI series between the two teams at the Nehru Stadium here.
The BCCI had been prompt in affirming that the Guwahati tie is as per schedule, notwithstanding the serial blasts. However, the final call is eventually expected from the England and Wales Cricket Board, with cricket teams having a history of refusing to play at international locations that had witnessed violence.
