Mumbai, Nov 7: Lt Col Srikant Prasad Purohit arrested in the case of Malegaon blasts has confessed in the court of law that he was the mastermind behind the blasts. According to sources, the 37-year-old officer reportedly told police that he had mapped the conspiracy and provided RDX and weapons for the 'revenge' attack which killed six people. Meanwhile, the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorist Squad is reported to make more arrests in the army in connection to the blasts, and set to question another serving army officer. Sources told that the suspect is a colleague of Purohit. The Nashik court had given permission for a narco test on Purohit on Thursday, Nov 6.
The ATS claims Purohit had a direct role in the Malegaon Blasts and said in court that he gave at least four weapons to the other accused.
He also allegedly transferred funds into their accounts. The ATS also wants to conduct further scientific tests on accused Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur.
This, after the ATS showed discontentment with the results of the brain mapping, polygraph and narco analysis tests conducted on the Sadhvi.
The court has granted permission to conduct the narco test on Friday, Nov 7 and Saturday, Nov 8.
