New Delhi, Nov 7: After submitting their resignations, five JD-U MPs attacked RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and LJP leader Ram Vilas Paswan for being 'power-hungry' at the time when North Indians are under attack from Marathis. "When the Central government is being seen surrendering to the divisive forces, ministers from Hindi region are wanting to enjoy power and not leave their posts," they said.

"What option did we have when the Constitution is under attack and the unity and integrity of the country is in peril because of the incidents in Maharashtra?" said JD(U) Lok Sabha leader Prabhunath Singh. He was talking to reporters after he and four other MPs, George Fernandes, Rajiv Ranjan Singh 'Lallan", Kailash Baitha and Meena Singh, submitted their resignation to Lok Sabha Secretary General P D T Achary.

Paswan terms the resignation 'a gimmick'

To this direct attack from the 5 JD-U Ministers, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief and Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan terms the charade as 'political gimmick'. "The JD(U) MPs who have resigned on Friday, Nov 7 are all from the Lok Sabha. If Nitish Kumar and his party are so concerned about attacks on north Indians in Maharashtra why didn't their Rajya Sabha MPs also resign. This is a political stunt by that party," Paswan said while reacting to the development.
