Nagpur, Nov 7 (UNI) Jason Krejza, who captured eight wickets in India's first innings today, credited the Australian captain for his day's performance and said the confidence that Ricky Ponting showed on him allowed him to achieve the feat.
Krejza claimed eight wickets to become only the sixth bowler in the world to take eight wickets on his debut Test.
Speaking to the mediapersons after the day's play, Krejza was extremely happy to capture the wickets and though he went for runs, the off-spinner said ''I got the wickets when the team needed them most and that is most satisfying.'' Answering a query, Krejza said today the field placings were changed a bit and that proved to be effective as India was dismissed for 441.
''Also, I had the skipper right behind me and it is a great confidence booster when the captain is behind you,'' he added.
On whether he had any problems with the ball which is different to that from which Australians use back home, Krejza said, ''this is part of international cricket and you have to get used to the conditions and equipments as soon as possible.
''I did not find too many problems gripping the SG balls. The Indians also have to face the same problem when they tour Australia,'' he added.
