Hyderabad, Nov 7 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) SSP Yadav today said suspected activists of the Indian Mujahideen (IM), arrested by the Bombay Police for their involvement in serial bomb blasts in various places in the country, had links in the twin bomb blasts in Gokul Chat and Lumbini park here in August 2007.
Addressing a press conference today, he said the Andhra Pradesh police had definite clues on the involvement of the arrested in the twin blasts in the city last year.
He said police had already approached the Bombay police and the suspects would be brought to the city for interrogation after the Bombay police completed the formalities.
However, there was no time frame for it.
''We have got some clues. They will be interrogated here and our police will initiate legal formalities in this regard,'' he added.
Asked about his comment on the allegations against the police that the they had not arrsted the real culprits involved in the Vottoli incident, in which six people of a Muslim family were burnt alive on October 12 during the communal clashes in Bhains in Adilabad district, he said the police had arrested the real culprits.
He said after a thorough investigation, the police arrested all the nine people involved.
Even the National Minority Commission (MNC) officials had appreciated the efforts of the state police in arresting the culprits and handling the situation, he said.
