BJP MPs from Bihar will not resign on Maharashtra issue
Patna, Nov 7(UNI) The BJP today said its MPs from Bihar would not resign to protest the violence against Biharis in Maharashtra and described the JD(U) MPs' move as their independent decision.
State spokesman of the party Binod Narain Jha said here the resignation of MPs was not a solution to unabated violence against Biharis in Maharashtra. He, however, described the resignation of all JD(U) MPs on the issue as independent decision that had nothing to do with the NDA.
''If RJD supremo Lalu Prasad and LJP president Ramvilas Paswan withdraw support from the Congress led UPA government at the Centre, the issue of safety and security of Biharis in Maharashtra would automatically get attention and appropriate action would be taken in this regard,'' Mr Jha added.
He dubbed Lalu's decision to collect the resignation letters of all RJD MPs, MLAs and MLCs on the issue as 'nothing but a sort of political drama'.
''This gimmick will not ensure safety and security of Biharis in Maharashtra,'' he added.
