Lucknow, Nov 7 (UNI) Former Congress union minister and presently the BSP's Rajya Sabha candidate Akhilesh Das has made public wealth and properties worth over Rs 43 crore, of which major portion belongs to assets of non-agricultural properties.
Another RS candidate of the BSP, Raja Ram, however, revealed that he only owns wealth of about Rs 38 lakhs. The name of Raja Ram had been dragged as the successor of the BSP after Ms Mayawati.
Other candidates of the BSP -- Brajesh Pathak and Avtar Singh Karimpuri-have properties and valaubles worth less than Rs one crore each.
Veer Singh, who has been given the second chance for the Rajya Sabha seat, have properties and valuables worth around Rs two crore, while former Lok Sabha member from Jalaun, Brij Lal Khabari, have assets worth around Rs one crore.
Also most of the politicians have shown interest in having firearms. While Rajaram has three firearms, including a rifle and a pistol, Veer Singh possesses two firearms in his name.
Akhilesh Das, who has been also declared the BSP's Lok Sabha candidate from Lucknow, have around Rs 2.60 crore as shares, jewellery, bonds and bank deposits. The Das family has jewellery worth over Rs one crore.
The major portion of the assets of the BSP candidate are of non-agriculture land including plots, flats and bunglows in Lucknow, Haryana, Noida, Gaziabad, Khurja and New Delhi worth around Rs 40 crore.
BSP Lok Sabha member from Unnao, Brajesh Pathak, has disclosed properties and valuables worth about Rs 60 lakhs, of which Rs 17 lakhs have been taken on loan from a person.
A resident of Punjab, Mr Karimpuri, has also disclosed assets worth around Rs 52 lakhs, of which a major portion of Rs 41 lakhs was the value of a joint property at Hoshiyarpur with his wife.
Similarly, Mr Khabari have a house in Orai in Jalaun district worth Rs 50 lakhs jointly with his wife.
