Two GHMC officials arrested in bribery case
Hyderabad, Nov 6 (UNI) ACB officials today arrested GHMC Accountant K Chandra Sekhar and a Junior Assistant, M Kanakaiah working on outsourcing in GHMC's Serilingampalli Municipality in Ranga Reddy District for accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000 for extending an official favour.
According to a press release here, Kanakaiah accepted the money on the instructions of Chandra Sekhar for issuing a cheque of Rs 3,74,091 for a contract of erecting modern lighting system in White Fields by the complainant.
The tainted amount was recovered from Kanakaiah.
Both the accused would be produced before Special Court for ACB cases, Hyderabad, the release added.
Meanwhile, Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Hyderabad, today convicted former MCH Junior Assistant M Nasing Rao in Khairatabad in a bribery case and sentence him to one year RI.
