Jakarta, Nov 6 : The 44th US President-elect, Barack Obama's, childhood home in Jakarta has become an attraction for neighbouring residents.

A resident said the furniture has remained the way it was left when Obama and his family moved out, Sin Chew Daily reported.

The resident said that the house belonged to his father-in-law, who was a good friend of Obama's stepfather.

The Besuki Primary School in Jakarta also plans to have a welcome party for Obama. The school headmaster said the American Embassy in Indonesia had sent officers to visit the school, the daily reported.

"The officers have promised to arrange a school visit by Obama after he is elected as President," the headmaster said.
