Mulayam turns down idea of seeking resignations from MPs
Lucknow, Nov 6 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav has rejected the idea of some political parties, seeking resignations of their Lok Sabha members in protest against the atrocities on north Indians by the Maharastra Navnirman Sena (MNS) in Maharastra.
''Though we oppose the action of the MNS, our party will not seek resignations of the MPs on this ground,'' he said.
Mr Yadav, interacting with the media here today, said the SP would launch an agitation against the MNS and would seek the Centre's action against its chief Raj Thackeray and party activists to prevent such anti-national activities.
''If nothing is done against them, the unity and integrity of the country would be at stake,'' he commented.
When asked to comment on the arrest of Sadhvi Pragya Singh and a serving army official in the Malegaon blast, he said proper investigation should be made.
